Where I'd Like To Be....

I have to admit, I'm fed up with snow and cold. Hopefully it'll start warming up around here soon. Though this is where I'd rather be..on a tropical beach somewhere. :) Doesn't it look nice?

I'm working on an interesting and different blog story. I'm hoping to be able to start it tomorrow and post through out the month of March...ending it on the last day of March. We'll see how it works out. Depends on how much else I have going...lol

The other stories are moving along. I'm so close to typing The End on Understanding Forgiveness. That will done tonight. Then I'll send it to my cps and see what I screwed up because to be honest, something doesn't feel right about the story. But my cps are great at telling me what I messed up and how to fix it. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and enjoy the beach like I'm going to do (in my mind anyway.)

Another Review for Angel

I got another review yesterday for Angel's Evolution. :)

Stacey at Just Erotic Romance Reviews gave Angel 4 stars and had this to say about the story:

"Written in the first person from the perspective of Angel, Angel's Evolution staked a place in my heart. I wasn't expecting the emotions I felt in the midst of this tale...While not overly erotic, Angel's Evolution was deeply emotional, and TA Chase did a fabulous job with the writing of it."

Thank you so much, Stacey. I'm thrilled that Angel's story touched your heart. His voice was so strong, I couldn't fight him. :)

Well, I didn't finish Understanding Forgiveness like I wanted to yesterday, but I got another 1k written, so I'm closer. Which makes me happy because now I've been talked into writing another short story for a Molten anthology with Lisa Andel and Lila Dubois. It should be interesting...lol. I have some other stories to finish as well.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Guest Blogger: Lila Dubois

Lila Dubois is the marvelously talented author of Forbidden, a Molten Silver title from Liquid Silver. She's my guest blogger today because Rhi wanted to tag her for the 50 fun facts, but Lila doesn't have a blog. So I was willing to let her borrow mine for the day. *don't worry. The Prestige

Watched The Prestige last night. It was pretty good. Definitely different from the other magic movie that came out last year..The Illusionist. But that's okay since Illusionist was more of a romance and this was what revenge costs to two men. Not really sure why Scarlet Johansson was in there for, except to add sex appeal for straight guys, I guess. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale...can you say hot? It was an intriguing look at magicians.

On Wednesday night, I ended up writing 4100 words on Understanding Forgiveness, bringing my total close to 9k. I want to add about 3k more and I think it'll be done by Sunday night. Then I can focus solely on Tony's story to get that finished. :) I also wrote the second chapter in the fantasy story that popped into my head the other night. But since I don't have any plans on adding it to my schedule at the moment, it'll slowly take shape when I have a little extra time.

I hope everyone has an awesome Friday. I'm looking forward to the weekend.

Wacky Wednesday

Wow..it's Wednesday all ready? Great. I'm happy about that actually...lol. Means two more days to the weekend.
So the threesome short story I wrote has been accepted by Liquid Silver. We're just waiting on the contracts. I'm paired with Bonnie Dee and Lisa Andel. Let me tell you, their stories are hot. It's definitely a Molten book. ;) Lisa and I are letting Bonnie take the lead on the cover art. She's already been in touch with April, the art director at LSB. But look for the anthology to be out by June or July. (hopefully...baring any problems)
Stealing Life is being looked over at LSB as well. I'm not worried about them turning it down. They're really good about taking stories from authors they've published before. Just haven't gotten the official word yet. :) So I'm not going to give you a date for that one's release yet. Though I know that I'll be begging Anne Cain to do the cover for it. (If she's not busy with other things..lol)
Understanding Forgiveness is coming along. I realized the other day though that this might be a sweet story without sex..though there will be some kissing involved. My two heroes just seem to want to take things slow and I don't want to force the issue if it doesn't fit in. But who knows? They might surprise me later on in the story. Mason Richardson is my shifter hero. He can change into the form of a snow leopard. Doctor Heinrich Gunther is the other hero. He has a secret eating him up inside. (figuratively and literally) *big grin* I'm a third of the way finished with it...so I'm hoping to have it done sooner rather than later.
Hope everyone has a wonderful wacky Wednesday.

Mad Monday

Well, it's Monday and another work week has begun. Woo-hoo!
Got some more written on Understanding Forgiveness yesterday. (which is my shifter short story), but I suffer from WADD..commonly known as Writer Attention Deficit Disorder. Meaning..I got a great idea for a new story and had to work on that for a while last night. It's a fantasy and will be really cool once I get into the meat of the story..lol.
But I hope you all enjoy President's Day and have a great Monday as well.

Gladiator again

I watched Gladiator again for the thousandth time it seems. Of course, I really just watched the fight scenes. The other actors and actresses did a great job, but really it's all about Crowe for me. ;)

Didn't do alot of writing yesterday, though I did manage to finish editing Stealing Life and submit that to LSB. Now just waiting to hear back from them. I'm thinking a late summer release for it. And I'm going beg and plead for Anne Cain to do my cover again. Since she's done such a great job on the last two.

I'm working on Tony's story now, plus Understanding Forgiveness, a short story for a special anthology the ManLoveRomance group is putting together for Aspen Mountain Press. I don't have any other details than my story needs to be finished by March/April. I don't have much longer to go before it's done. :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

The Departed

I'm sure you're wondering how do I manage to watch so many movies during the week...lol. I usually watch them while I write. I'm a great multi-tasker. :)

The Departed was a good movie. Had a great cast..though my favorite out of the bunch wasn't in it much. Mark Walhberg. But still Matt Damon and Leonardo De Caprio were good. And it ended well, imo. The bad guy got his. Which makes me happy even though I understand about protraying real life and bad guys not always getting punished for what they do.

Finished up re-working Firebird (or Stealing Life as Lila spilled the beans yesterday about the new title) One of my beta readers made some good suggestions, so I worked them in to the story. They ended making it longer.

Faymas, if you stop by today, contact me. You won my SEx blog contest yesterday. We have to work out what you won. lol. Thanks to everyone who stopped by.

Have a great Friday. :)

An Inconvenient Truth

First off, Happy Valentine's Day, everyone. Enjoy all the chocolate you want. You get a free pass today. :)

Watched this movie the other night. An Inconvenient Truth and I have to say their tagline is pretty close to dead on. "The most terrifying flim you will ever see" Seriously made me think about what we were doing to the planet and how it just might not be able to bounce back like it's done before. The thought of Greenland disappearing into the North Atlantic gives me chills.

Didn't get much writing done on anything last night. Decided to take the night off and just watch tv. Since I worked so hard to get Firebird finished, I needed to not think about writing. It was nice, but I'll be getting back to the new stories that need to be finished. :) Want to get supplying my adoring fans with books to read..lol. ;)

Have a great day. For those of you dealing with snow, I hope you're warm and safe. Take care of yourselves.

It's done

Firebird is finished. Typed in The End at 12:03 this morning. :) Came in at 55k or so...might be a little longer than that. I'll be posting the last couple of installments this week or so. three people area reading it for me to make sure I didn't make any glaring mistakes or screwed up the time line. but woo-hoo! It's done.

Now I'm going to work on a short story that I promised would be done by April and Tony's story. The short story shouldn't take too long, it's only needs to be 10-15k and I've got 5k done already. It's a shifter story (not a werewolf though). Undersatnding Forgiveness is the title.

Watched A Scanner Darkly last night. Not exactly sure about it. Really odd and not very coherent in my opinion. It was hard to take seriously with the cartoon-like look to it. Kept expecting them to burst out in song. :)

Have a great day today.

Wednesday Wondering

When I'm in bed at night or in the morning, I can't let any part of my body hang over the edge of the mattress...like my hand or foot. Part of the reason is they get cold..lol. The other must be some subconscious thing about monsters under the bed grabbing my hand and pulling me under. *shrug* That's the only thing I can think of to explain why I can't do it.
Can any of you let your feet or hands hang over the edge of your bed?
Have a great Wednesday.

Winter Blues

Sorry no picture today. I should have one though..maybe it would warm me up. It's below zero here and I'm tired of winter. It can go away any time now. Ugh!

Congratulations to the Colts for winning the SuperBowl.

I'll be chatting tonight at the Fallen Angel Reviews chatroom. Click here and it'll take you to where you can sign in for the chat. The chat runs from 9-11 pm EST. Stephanie Vaughan, James Buchanan, Matthew Haldeman-Time and I will there, talking about our books and maye giving away a prize or two along the way.

Hope to see you there and have a great day. Stay warm!

The Guardian

We watched The Guardian last night. I'm not an Ashton Kutcher fan. I think he got this far on his looks, more than his acting ability. But he proved me wrong with this movie. He did a good job.

It was a typical Kevin Costner movie, imo. Wise, older role model...been there done that and got the emotional wounds to prove it. But it's a role that works for him. So I'm not complaining.

There's an interesting legend they mention at the beginning and the ending of the movie...giving me another idea for a story. Like I need any more ideas..lol. I've got enough ideas to last me at least until late next year.

We also watched Flyboys again, but since I've already posted about it here..I'm not going to mention it.

Well, it's SuperBowl Sunday. So we'll be heading out to watch the game with some friends. I'll be taking my laptop because I really want to get Firebird done. That way I'll have another book coming out soon. ;) I'm being pretty confident that someone will contract it, huh?

Have a great Sunday. If you're watching the game, have fun. If not, have fun as well.

Finished

The short story I was working on is done. Woo-hoo! Two for One will be part of an anthology tentatively titled THREE. Lisa Andel and Bonnie Dee will be joining me with their great stories. We've submitted them to Liquid Silver and hopefully be hearing from them soon. That way I can give you a coming soon date for it.
The anthology features stories about threesomes or menages. Mine, of course, will m/m/m and I have to admit I've decided that I'm not really good at threesomes...lol. (at least writing about them) Too many 'hes'. Though I'm pretty sure there'll be a foursome in the next Dragon book. Have to get Mordred, George, Kael and Hugh together at least once, right?
Now I can focus completely on Firebird to get that finished up in the next week or so. (Keeping my fingers crossed for that.)
Hope everyone has a great Saturday. It's cold here and I'm planning on staying in to do some writing.

Firebird-Part Forty-Three

Firebird copyright (c) 2007 TA Chase

Part Forty-Three-

Vlatko glared at Zalaigh. “Who are you that you can make promises binding all Mitcovians?”
Zalaigh stood and towered over him, but he refused to feel intimidated by the Mitcovian.

“I’m High Councilor, supreme ruler of Mitcov. I’m also the Guardian of the Heart.”

“You sure as hell aren’t the person I stole the stone from.” Rue’s comment caused a smile to chase across Vlatko’s face.

“It seems the I.U.M.’s reach is long. They corrupted one of my closest companions. She took the Heart. I don’t know where she was headed with it when you ran into her. Allaigh and his men caught up to her just minutes after the Heart changed hands.”

Allaigh touched Zalaigh’s back. The security officer’s touch seemed to ease the High Councilor.

“What happens when we give you back the stone?” Vlakto eased over to block Rue with his body. He didn’t think the Mitcovians were interested in killing or hurting them anymore, but he wasn’t willing to stake Rue’s life on it.

“The reuniting of the Heart and the medallion is a private thing. Allaigh will show you to a suite that will be yours for as long as you chose to stay. In the morning after we have rested, we’ll meet and go in search of a cure for you.” Zalaigh’s voice wavered and the High Councilor braced himself on the table.

The High Councilor was weakening. Vlatko didn’t want to chance Zalaigh would get too sick to help him. He tugged the stone from his vest pocket. He started to hand it to Zalaigh.

The High Councilor shook his head. Nodding to Rue, Zalaigh said, “Please, let the thief touch it one more time.”

Rue’s eyes widened, but he reached out with a hesitant hand. Vlatko encouraged him with a smile. If Zalaigh wanted Rue to touch it, Rue would.

A burst of light blinded Vlatko the second Rue’s fingers landed on the fire opal. He yanked the stone away when Rue started to fall. He tossed it towards Zalaigh before catching Rue in his arms.

After making sure Rue was okay, he checked to see Allaigh holding the High Councilor in his own embrace. The councilor’s hands cradled the Heart. Vlatko and Allaigh exchanged a glance. They understood each other. Their first priority was to their lovers.

“I’ll send someone to escort you to your suite.” Allaigh stalked to the door, carrying Zalaigh.

“Thank you and I hope the High Councilor is all right.” Vlatko sat down in a chair and grasped Rue to his chest. “What the hell happened?”

Rue pressed the hand that had touched the opal to Vlatko’s chest. He gasped. It felt as if Rue was holding a burning ember to his skin, even through his clothes.

“Are you okay? Do we need to treat the burns?” He pried one of his own hands from Rue’s body to hold the injured hand to the light.

“No. Aside from the heat, I’m fine.” Rue reassured Vlatko.

Remarkably, the thief was telling the truth. Vlatko’s close inspection of Rue’s hand showed no burns or blisters anywhere.

“What the fuck happened?”

Rue shrugged. “I don’t know. I touched the gem and it was as if a wall of fire shot through me. It was the most intense heat I’d ever felt, but I wasn’t worried about burning up or anything.” Rue shook his head. “You’ll think I’m crazy.”
