Poetry Train...

Here's a little scene I wrote up. It goes along with the story I wrote yesterday for the Flash Fiction Sunday at SEx. It's dark and a little scary...lol. Very different from what I've written before. Enjoy.

“I won’t beg.” The large auburn haired man glares at me.

I chuckle, circling the kneeling man. I love seeing this strong man bound in front of me. His muscled arms are tied behind him with a thin gold chain, hooked to a wide black leather collar around his neck. I reach out, running my finger down from the point where my captive’s pulse pounds at the base of his throat to the middle of his chest.

“Hmm…no begging, huh?” I grin at him.

“Your kind lives for causing pain, Archelaus.” His teeth grind together as he shivers.

“My kind? My dear man, you have never run into my kind before.” I trace a line from one nipple to the other, encouraging those little pieces of flesh to harden.

A huge shudder wracks the man’s body. I pinch and twist, watching him with a half-lidded stare. His pale skin flushes and I glance down to see my plaything’s cock stiffen. He shifts, trying to move away from me, but he couldn’t.

I lean forward, licking a line over the vein throbbing in the man’s neck. A gentle breeze rushes past me, scented with cinnamon and vanilla. I reach out, smoothing my hand over the white feathers of the man’s wings.

“Then again, maybe you have,” I comment before sinking my fangs into his neck.

Pimping Friday....

I read a bunch of books yesterday. I know, bad me...lol. I should have been writing, but I wanted to catch up on some of the books that have come out.

Faith is the fourth in Jet Mykles' Heaven Sent series. I enjoyed it and I like the cover as well. :)

Ummm...oh finally got to read Ally Blue's Fireflies. Wonderful as always.

Read a couple others, but I'll talk about those at another time. :)

Not much going on today, so I'm hoping to sneak in a little writing.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

Wednesday's WiPs

Yes, Wednesday are reserved for letting everyone know how I'm doing on my word count for the stories I'm working on, but I thought I'd start by letting everyone know that Lisa Andel has a new book out today at Ellora's Cave. Flame Angel is hot...hot...hot. (Like all of Lisa's books...lol) *It's not up for buying yet on EC's site, so just check back a little later*

Also, Emily Veinglory has a new novella out at Torquere Press. It's in The Call, edited by Rob Knight about werewolves. Jourdan Lane and BA Tortuga have stories in there as well. I'll be picking that one up. Looks good. (I've given you the link to the pdf file, but it's also available in other formats and print as well)

Okay, for what you've all come to find out. (Or maybe not, but I like to think you really do care to know how much I've slaved away on my stories. *wink*)

Without further ado, here we go:

Home of his Own: 27,431/50,000 (for a total of 2,839 words written since last Wednesday)

The Vanguard: 43,329/55,000 (for a total of 2,867 words since last Wednesday)

The Gypsy Devil: 13,477/50,000 (for a total of 164 words since last Wednesday)

That gives me 5,870 words in a week. Not great at all, but still that doesn't take into account what I've written on a new vampyre story and a western I started. Those are written in a journal I keep and won't be typed in until I'm ready to start working on them. The three listed here are the ones I'm focusing most of my attention on. As you can see, I'm closest to finishing The Vanguard. :)

Still haven't heard anything about Out of Bounds or Understanding Forgiveness. Those are two stories floating around out in limbo. I'll admit it drives me crazy having books done and out there that there's nothing concrete I can tell you about. :( But I'm sure it won't be long and you'll be the first to know.

Have a great Wednesday.

Poetry Train....

So I did as much writing as I could on Home of His Own over the weekend. Didn't end up getting as much written as I would have liked, but still I'm farther along than I was.
I thought I'd give you another sneak peek at The Gypsy Devil. (I promise next week will be something not from TGD. Maybe another poem.)
Excerpt:
“God hates me.”

Marsden looked up from where he sat, eating breakfast to meet Beng’s statement with a frown. “Are you sure it’s God?”

“Who else would thrust that beautiful boy into my path with such malicious glee?” Beng filled a plate with eggs and sausage. He sat at the table with his friend.

Pouring a cup of coffee and pushing it over to Beng, Marsden laughed. “That boy is only four years younger than you. And considering everything he’s been through the past month, I hardly think it’s correct to call him that.”

He glared at Marsden. “I’m trying to keep things from spinning out of control, friend. If I think of him as a boy, then I’m less likely to do something we will all regret.”

“Master David is a rather fine looking young man.” Marsden stopped when Beng held up his hand.

“Who has just been rescued from a horrifying situation. Don’t push me, Marsden. London and society doesn’t look fondly on my kind. They might turn a blind eye on rich titled men playing games as long as it isn’t out in the light of day, but they wouldn’t ignore me.” He shoved his plate away and picked up his cup. Standing, he moved towards the hallway and his study.

“You’re rich and titled. Why would you be any different than the rest of the sodomites who live in this town?” Marsden gathered the plates on a tray.

“I’m different because I’m a half-breed gypsy boy. They don’t forgive or forget differences like that.” He continued down the hall, missing the sigh his friend gave.

In the study, he stood in front of the fireplace and stared up at the painting above the mantle. “Why did I think coming back here was a good idea? I didn’t know homesickness could cause a total loss of sanity.”

The man in the painting remained silent. He went and sat down, dropping his head to rest on the desk. Closing his eyes, the image of David sprawled in his bed popped up in his mind. Dark curls the color of coffee graced his pillow. The younger man’s pale skin looked as smooth as silk.

Beng shot straight up in his chair and whirled around. He was becoming a bloody poet. Soon he’d be wearing shirts with ruffles and running around composing sonnets to David’s eyelashes. The day he did that, he’d shoot himself.

Movement outside distracted him and he moved closer to the window. The gardener was back. The worker was a few years older than Beng, but his tanned face and body held a masculine strength Beng always admired. His gaze focused on the man’s ass.

He imagined stalking out into the yard and bending the man over. Those coarse pants tore under his hands. He spread firm cheeks and drove his prick deep into the man’s ass. Its snug grip gloved him. He rubbed his shaft through his trousers. A moment later, the stillness of the gardener brought Beng out of his daydream.

The man was looking back over his shoulder at him with a knowing gleam in his eyes. Relief ripped through Beng when he realized the sill of the window blocked the man from seeing Beng fondle his groin. A quirk of the eyebrow told Beng the man wouldn’t be opposed to taking a break and having a quick roll in the flowerbeds. With a sharp shake of his head, Beng broke eye contact and turned away.

Scrubbing his shaking hand over his face, he groaned. He knew better than to let anyone find out his secret. He’d learned the hard way how to keep his impulses under control at all times. Four years of waking up in opium dens or back alleys and having no idea what he’d done to get there created a huge scar on his soul. He’d eaten garbage. Robbed people who couldn’t afford the loss. He’d watched friends die without shedding a tear, but with a great deal of laughter. Men had done things to him and he allowed their touch because they paid him in opium.

Busy Friday...

Hey everyone,
Today is going to be a busy day for me, so I didn't have time to find a book to pimp. Sorry about that.
But I thought I'd post a nice pic for you all instead. :)
And to just let you know, I plan on putting the blinders on this weekend. I'm focusing on Tony's story (Home of his Own) to the exculsion of all my other stories. I'm going to see how far I can get by next Wednesday's WiPs update. Hopefully, it'll be at least another 10k added.
Have a great Friday.

Wednesday's WiPs

So this pic has nothing to do with my post today...lol. I just love it. :) And thought I'd share it with everyone. I believe it can be found at this site, BeautifulMag.com

First thing, Ally Blue has a new book out, Fireflies, from Samhain. I'm pimping it today, even though I haven't read it yet. Mostly because it's Ally Blue and I haven't read one of hers I haven't liked. And because Anne Cain created the awesome cover for it. :)

I've decided that Wednesdays are going to be my update days. When I give you actual word counts, so you can see how much I'm getting done on different stories. Some weeks there won't be any change. Other weeks there will be big changes. But this is also to keep me focused on the stories as well.

So, here's the three I'm working on at the moment. (You'll also notice that the stories themselves will change as I get stuck on one I might start working on a new one.)

Home of his Own (Tony's story): 24,592/50,000

The Vanguard: 40,462/55,000

The Gypsy Devil: 13,313/50,000

I set myself a goal of 50k for each of my stories. It doesn't matter to me if I go over that mark, but I don't want to be too far under it. :)

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.

Poetry Train...

Today's Poetry Train is another excerpt from The Gypsy Devil. (The regency I posted the first scene from last Monday.) :) I had a migraine yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to write something new for everyone. I hope you enjoy this one.

The Gypsy Devil (c) 2007 TA Chase

Excerpt:

The fire crackled. Flames danced in an orange and red swirl. Beng sprawled in the chair in front of the fireplace. A glass dangled from his fingers. Whiskey lurked around the edge, threatening to spill.

Without taking his gaze from the flames, he held out his drink. “You might as well drink it. No need to waste good whiskey. I’m not sure why Marsden insists on pouring me a glass when he knows I won’t drink it.”

A hand emerged from the shadows, taking it. “Maybe he hopes to have it after you go to bed. How did you know I’d come in?” Shade sat down in the chair next to him.

Beng laughed. “Marsden can have some whenever he wants. He doesn’t need to sneak them. When you opened the door, the fire leaned your way for a second.”

Shade nodded. “Most people wouldn’t have noticed.”

“True, but we both know I’m not like most people.” Beng looked at his friend.

Shade’s dark hair was cut short. His olive skin glowed gold in the fire light. Except for eye color, they could pass for brothers. Shade’s eyes were a jade green, shining with all the mysteries of that same stone. Beng’s own eyes were such a light blue, he’d been told they looked white at times.

Dark circles graced Shade’s thin face. He was skinnier than the last time Beng had seen him.

“You work too hard, my friend,” he muttered.

Exhaustion blurred the spy’s green eyes. “Working until my body collapses is the only way to find peace sometimes.”

Understanding what Shade meant kept him quiet. Some ghost was riding the man hard. Beng could feel the weight of those memories in the room.

“I heard Northampton left for Paris.” Changing the topic seemed like a good idea.

“Yes. He left to escape rumors.” Shade drank the liquor in one quick swallow.

“And to spy on Napoleon, no doubt.”

Shade’s head shot up and Beng met the cold stare with one of his own.

“Why would you think that?”

“Most of the Ton are idiots, my friend, but don’t make the mistake of thinking I am as well.” Beng shifted, turning his gaze back to the fire. “I know there’s more to the duke than being a simple widower. Who is the young man traveling with him?”

“A young man he has befriended and is escorting to Paris as a favor to the man’s uncle.” Shade’s voice held a warning.

He didn’t heed it. “You’re doing it again. The duke has the same tendencies I do. Only he has less control over them.” He frowned. “Or maybe it is simply the duke has more courage to face the truth than I.”

Shade sighed. “You’re right. The young man is Northampton’s lover. The duke saved him from a terrible life. As strange as it may sound, they’re in love.” The spy rested his head on the back of the chair.

“It’s been known to happen.” Beng’s gaze made its way to the portrait above the mantle. A stern older man glared from the painting like he was challenging the world. “I’ve seen love in the strangest places.”

They were silent for a few minutes, remembering. Shade grunted.

“What do you want?”

Beng shut his eyes. “I need you to keep an ear open for me. It won’t interfere in your other business. Just while you travel about, listen for any gossip concerning a young lord who has gone missing.”

“Missing?” A glance was shot his way. “We know what that usually means.”

“Yes, we do, but I’d like to try and find him or at least find out what happened to him.” He pointed to his desk behind him. “His brother had some other men searching for David. No luck, but maybe a clue or two.”

“I’m willing to help you out.” Shade stood, dropped a hand on Beng’s shoulder before moving to gather the reports. “I’ll send you news if I find any information.”

“Thanks, my friend.” He didn’t stand or turn when the door opened and Shade left.

Making his way up to his bedroom, Beng thought about his friend. There was a man haunted by experiences in the past. He said a silent pray and hoped Shade found peace.

So I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse of Shade-if you've read Angel's Evolution, you'll know who he is. He does play a bigger role in this story, but he still hasn't found the man to make him forget Jonathan.

Have a great Monday.

Pimping Books...

So I'm really just pimping one particular book today. I haven't read anything else by Jodi Payne. I did read Founder yesterday and enjoyed it. If anyone else has read anything by this author, maybe you can let us know what you thought about her stuff. :)

I also read Drew Zachary's second installment in his Jerhico Jones Chaser series at Torquere. I'm enjoying both heroes.

Oh and guess what? Ms. Stephanie Vaughan, whose books I pimped last Friday, was gracious enough to give me a sneak peek of her second Off World book. Let me tell you, you don't want to miss it. If you enjoyed the first book, definitely pick up the second. Which will be available August 22nd. woo-hoo! I'll remind you all when we get closer to that date.

Hmm...what else? I've been hard at work on several books. I should really focus on just one, but I'm getting inspired to work on at least four different books at once. Ugh! lol

Well, have a nice Friday. :)

Men, Movies and Memes

First for the man. He is rather yummy, isn't he? :)

Second, the movies. I watched The Astronaut Farmer and Peaceful Warrior last night. I really enjoyed TAF. It was a story about never giving up your dreams. Also, that if you dream hard enough and believe hard enough, you can make others believe in it as well. It's a story about a father bringing his family along for the ride and making them a part of his dream. PW is sort of the same story about not giving up dreams, but also about being happy with the journey, even if you don't achieve the goal. It was a okay movie. Not terrible and not great. But I didn't resent spending my time watching it.

Lastly, the meme. I totally forgot that Lila tagged me a week or so ago. Filed it away as something I'd do over the weekend and then ended up busy with other things. But I'll do it today. I have to tell you 8 things/facts about myself. I'd post the rules but since I'm not going to tag 8 other people, the rules don't matter...lol.

As you can tell, I love movies...pretty much any kind (except romantic comedies. I'm not big on those) So I thought I'd give you a list of my 8 favorite movies of all time. :) In no particular order.

1. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington: I love Jimmy Stewart as this naive senator. Stewart played the role of innocence so well. But he was so good, he could play any role and I'd believe him.

2. The 13th Warrior : The dialogue was great. Action scenes good. The movie worked to show us that sometimes what we need is a fresh prespective on a problem.

3. Gladiator : Russell Crowe, what more do I have to say? Joaquin Phoenix does a man having a nervous breakdown better than anyone I've seen. Djimon Hounson has quickly become one of my favorite actors as well. A story about a man seeking revenge and to turn the course of the world back to the way it should have been.

4. The Chronicles of Riddick : The story of an outlaw who saves the universe without meaning to. In trying to save the one person who has always believed in his goodness, he ends up saving people he doesn't even like. Vin Diesel..yummy.

5. Unleashed (or Danny the Dog) : Jet Li is another actor that I'll go see in the movies, no matter what he's in. His physical ability is awe-inspiring. This movie tells the story that even what seems as the most lost soul can be found and given a new life. Plus it has Morgan Freeman in it and to me, Freeman is a god. (no pun intended)

6. Last Holiday : Queen Latifah is beautiful and so confident. The story is entertaining and tells us not to let life pass us by. Go out and live it. Don't be afraid of it. Plus, LL Cool J... 'nuff said.

7. The Sum of Us : Another Russell Crowe movie. He plays a gay man who lives with his father. It's more about the relationship Crowe has with his father than anything else. A beautiful story about acceptance and taking care of each other no matter what.

8. 300 : This is one of the more recent movies I've seen and one that I'll watch several times. Not just for the marvelous eye candy it presents us with, but because of the story as well. Three hundred men marching off to what they know is certain death. Sacrifice of self for the state and for an idea. Men believing in their king and a queen knowing her king has to do it.

There you have it. A list of 8 favorite movies of mine. :)

Hope you have a great Wednesday.

Poetry Train....

Another Monday and another ride on the Poetry Train. Make sure to stop by Rhian's blog to see who else is participating today. Here's an excerpt from a new Regency I've started. It's not about Shade, but the man does make an appearance in it. :)

One of our heroes' name is Lord Bertram Beng Wilkins (Beng is Gypsy for Devil). He goes by Beng.

Excerpt:

“I’ve sold my soul to the devil, Marsden.”

Lord Bertram Beng Wilkins rested his chin on the palm of his hand and stared out the window. His eyes traced the muscled line of a gardener’s back. A gardener his sister-in-law had been gracious enough to loan him.

“I’m going to hell,” he murmured, his groin stirring as the gardener bent over to pull something out of the dirt.

“I’m sure you are, sir, but not at the moment.”

Something in the tone of Beng’s majordomo’s voice roused him. He turned to face his oldest and only servant.

“Do I have something better or more important to do than wallow in self-pity right now?” He winked at Marsden.

“Yes, my lord.” Marsden looked uncomfortable which was odd for the man.

“Are you going to tell me what it is? Or do I have to guess?” Bertram grimaced. He hated having to guess.

“The Duke of Wiltshire is waiting in the Red Parlor, my lord.”

“Will? Here?” Beng understood why Marsden looked like he’d swallowed a fish. “Bloody hell, the Devil is playing with his wayward disciple. I thought I’d have a few days to settle before I ran into Will.”

“I won’t lie for you while you sneak out the back like you did the last time, my lord.”

Marsden referred to the last time William had stopped by Beng’s London house. Beng had crept out of the back entrance like a coward while Marsden lied to Will.

“How am I supposed to face him?” Beng closed his eyes and sighed.

Beng’s family seat shared property lines with William’s ancestral home. They had run wild together as children along with William’s younger brother, David. Will had been Beng’s best friend until they turned sixteen and Beng realized that his childhood love for his friend had turned into something more.

Tennis..anyone?

I'm watching Wimbledon at the moment. I like both Federer and Nadal, but I have to admit my heart is hoping Federer will win. It'll be his fifth Wimbledon in a row. I want history to be made.

Oh and stop by SEx today. It's Flash Fiction Sunday and people will be posting their very short scenes. (100 words total). Shayla is hosting today, but I've posted something already.

hope you all have a great Sunday.

Transformers

C and I went to see Transformers on Wednesday. It was really good. I mean it's a typical summer blockbuster with lots of explosions and fights, but they made it funny as well. The special effects were awesome. :) Of course, there's probably going to be a sequel, especially if the movie does well at the box office. Let's just hope they don't get too carried away and make a ton of them. (which they won't if they don't do well. It's too big a budget film for that.)

Not doing much today. Hopefully I'll get in some writing at some point.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

Pimping Books...

Stephanie Vaughan has several books out, some 'het' and some m/m. I haven't read any of her 'het' ones, but I've enjoyed all of the m/m ones I've gotten. Off World is a great sci-fi/futuristic story.

Stop by Stephanie's website to see what else she has out and coming.

Hmm...what else is there?

Oh, I'm focused on Tony's story. Hopefully will get that done sooner rather than later. :)

Still no news about Out of Bounds or Understanding Forgiveness (the short story I wrote for an anthology going to Aspen Mountain Press) As soon as I hear anything about that, I'll let you all know.

Hope you all have a great Friday.

The Vanguard

The Vanguard copyright (c) 2007 TA Chase

Part Thirty-Four-

Rathian wasn’t sure what he should do except walk to his suite. None of his men reacted to the fact that both he and Stakel were naked. He held his head high. There was no reason he should be embarrassed. As the Supreme Commander, he had every right to walk around the Manor sans clothing if he wanted.

Rathian never thought he’d been uncomfortable in his skin, but knowing all eyes were on him was unnerving. The footsteps following him kept him moving along at a steady pace instead of hurrying. He stopped, allowing one of his men to open the Manor door for him.

“Sir, I need to speak to you.”

He turned and saw Excelsie standing in the hallway to his left. “Now isn’t a good time, General.”

Stakel remained close, but didn’t say anything. Rathian moved and his lover’s hand came to rest at the small of his back. Rough fingers caressed the soft skin there. Shivers chased down his spine, but his focus stayed on Excelsie.

“I’m afraid it is important.” Excelsie’s gaze shot over Rathian’s shoulder to land on Stakel.
“We have some new information about Villious and how the battle goes.” The general’s eyes were cold and ugly.

Duty warred with desire. He longed to go with Stakel to his rooms. Stakel seemed to enjoy their love making. He wanted to experience it as well, even though he’d been taught that the Supreme Commander never makes himself submissive to anyone. Yet he didn’t think Stakel would take advantage of that.

“Darius, bring the Supreme Commander a set of clothes and food to the war room.” Stakel’s orders shocked all of them.

“Who are you to give the prince’s page orders?” Excelsie’s body tensed.

Stakel stalked forward, pushing into the general’s face. Rathian saw the scowl marring his lover’s face. Stakel’s brown eyes glowed with a golden light. He started to reach out and stop the Villious from confronting Excelsie.

If he means something to you, you must let him fight his own battles. Do you want him to stay with you?

Who the hell was this voice talking to him? He’d never had it happen before Stakel arrived. Yes. It was a simple answer, but it was spoken from the heart. Rathian didn’t want to lose Stakel.

Then you must allow him to fight his own battles and establish his place in the Vanguard. He’ll not be a subservient lover. As a Consort, he fought against the chains and whips of the priests. They couldn’t break his pride. He won’t allow you to put him in that same position.

Rathian bit his lip and let Stakel deal with Excelsie. Glancing around, he saw Darius standing on the bottom stair. The page gave him an askance shrug. The prince nodded. Stakel had decided that the war was more important at the moment than their pleasure. In a way, it made Rathian happy to know his lover understood the demands placed on Rathian as the Supreme Commander.

“I don’t have to explain anything to you, General. You aren’t my commander, so your authority doesn’t extend to me.” Stakel pointed at Rathian. “The only one I’ll ever take orders from is Prince Rathian. My loyalty is his and no one else’s.”

Excelsie snarled, but something in the set of Stakel’s shoulders or the fact that the Villious’ hand gripped the curved blade convinced the general not to lose control. Rathian joined them.

“One of these days, the prince won’t be there to protect you and your evil plot will be revealed.” Excelsie spun around and marched off to the war room.

Rathian started to chase after him. Anger boiled in him at the threat Excelsie leveled towards Stakel. His lover’s hand stayed his movement. He looked at Stakel who shook his head.

“Don’t. This is between him and me. When the time comes, he’ll make his move and discover that I don’t need anyone’s protection.” A bruising kiss landed on his lips. “Go. Talk about the war. I can wait.”

A rough hand stroked his naked cock and he groaned. Stakel might be able to wait, but he wasn’t sure if he could.

“I’ll try to return as soon as possible,” he promised.

“You know where to find me.”

Stakel pumped his cock again, and then headed up the stairs. Rathian watched his lover’s tight ass flex with each step. For the first time, he cursed the responsibilities of being the Supreme Commander.

Poetry Train....

Here's an excerpt from a WIP that I actually just finished and sent to my cps to check out for me. It's called Out of Bounds and is about a basketball player and a nightclub owner. Enjoy.

He shook his head. “I’ll just have some of your water, if that’s all right. I don’t drink during the season.”

The bottle was handed over and Kasey took a sip. He rested his head on the cushion again, watching the crowd dancing in front of him. His thumb continued to stroke over Gram’s knuckles. His eyelids drifted closed.

“Come here.”

His body was rearranged so he leaned against a warm body. His arms encircled Gram’s waist and he sighed. The nightclub’s owner smelled of smoke, whiskey and man. Kasey buried his nose in the crook of Gram’s neck and sniffed.

“This might not be smart,” Gram said. “But I have to kiss you.”

Kasey felt Gram’s hands tangle in his hair and his head tipped back slightly. He stared in surprise as Gram’s face moved closer to his and their mouths met in a soft kiss. Gasping, he shivered with pleasure while Gram nibbled on his bottom lip. He kept his arms around Gram’s waist, clasping them together at the man’s lower back. Lust swamped him, causing his eyes to close and his mouth to open, allowing Gram’s tongue to sweep inside.

Gram tasted of whiskey and smoke. A taste Kasey never thought he’d find intoxicating, but maybe it was more the man than the taste turning him on. Gram tugged on his hair, encouraging him to lean back without breaking their connection. Soon his back made contact with the leather couch and Gram was lying on top of him.

It had been so long since he’d felt the warmth and solidness of a male body pressed to his. He arched his hips, pushing their groins together. His tongue dueled with Gram’s, stroking and thrusting, learning the man’s mouth. Kasey became lost in the sensations of pleasure and passion.

Gram moved an inch away, tilted Kasey’s head in a different direction and dove back into the kiss, taking it deeper than before. Kasey’s groan rumbled in the back of his throat. His hands cupped Gram’s firm ass and squeezed in rhythm with the thrust of their tongues and hips.

Tingling in his spine and the ache in his cock told him his climax was close. It had been over a year since he’d come with another man that he wouldn’t last much longer.

Applause broke through the haze and he stiffened. Gram backed off the instant Kasey tensed. Shock iced through Kasey’s body when he remembered where they were. Shit. He was making out and dry humping the male owner of a nightclub in said nightclub. Fuck. So much for keeping his love life private. He was screwed if any reporters or enterprising would-be paparazzi caught sight of them. Gram sat up and helped him regain his former sitting position.

Kasey glanced around, trying to see if anyone watched them. The back section of the V.I.P. lounge being bathed in shadows was why he’d fallen asleep back there in the first place. So he hoped no one peered too close at the couple on the couch. Also, most of his friends at the club were lined up to form a wall of bodies in front of them. Garrett and the others weren’t allowing anyone to look or step behind them.

Gram cradled his cheek in his hand, brushing a shaky thumb over Kasey’s swollen bottom lip. “I’m sorry, baby. I know I shouldn’t have kissed you here, but you’re so fucking beautiful. I never could resist temptation.”

Stealing Life

Hey everyone, I got good news yesterday. Stealing Life received a Recommended Read (and 5 Angels) from Teresa at Fallen Angel Reviews. Woo-hoo! Here's a little of what she said:

"Throughout all the twists and turns of the plot, Mr. Chase takes the reader through an action packed story that has both heart and enough adventure to please anyone. Thanks go to Mr. Chase for another creative and captivating story."

I'm totally stoked about it. :) Thanks a lot, Teresa.

C and I went to see Live Free or Die Hard yesterday. I have never seen any of the other Die Hard movies, though C tells me I'm going to have to sit down and watch the first one (which is the best in his opinion.) Though he did say that this one was really good as well. I enjoyed the movie. Bruce Willis was very good and funny in it. I guess, except for the truly dangerous stuff, he does his own stunts. Which impresses the hell out of me.

I plan on doing nothing today, but writing. I didn't get anything accomplished yesterday. :( And I'm really trying to get at least one book finished today.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
